Thousands of Italian fans have flooded the streets of Tirana and created an electrifying atmostphere
When the Conference League was announced by UEFA, many were critical of the new competition. It was, in their opinion, yet another meaningless competition creating more matches and doing nothing to help the waning importance of other competitions or reduce the stronghold top European clubs held on the Champions League.
While these arguments may still hold some truth, the idea that the Conference League would be meaningless competition is being disproved fairly quickly. With the first ever final in the history of the competition just hours away, AS Roma fans have proven how much they care about this title.
Thousands of AS Roma fans travelled to Tirana to live this historic ocassion
It has been reported that over 100,000 fans from the Italian side and their rivals Dutch club Feyenoord have travelled to the capital of Albania, even when the stadium where the game is to be played can only host 21,000.
The Roma fans are creating an absolutely terrific atmosphere around the stadium which almost makes it seem like the game is about to be played at the Colosseum and not over 600 kilometres from the Italian capital.

Should the Giallorossi win the inaugural Conference League final, it would be only their second European crown, having won the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1961, but failing to add to the tally falling in the 1984 European Cup final and the 1991 UEFA Cup final. Truly a historic ocassion for historic club.
