ITS OFFICIAL: Bayern Munich seals deal for Ajax wonderkid
The Bavarian giants aren't having the easiest of transfer windows, but they just sealed an important deal
Things are turbulent right now for Bayern Munich in the transfer market. The tensions with star Robert Lewandowski are at a high, and Liverpool are playing hard to get for the signing of Sadio Mane, which only adds to the already strained relationship between manager Julian Nagelsmann and Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic. However, it seems now there could be some light at the end of the tunnel, and it comes in the shape of one Ryan Gravenberch.
While it's been know for a while that Bayern were after the Ajax wonderkid, now the deal is as good as done. As reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the official announcement just came, as the player has just signed a five-year contract with the Bavarian giants.
According to German newspaper Bild, the transfer would go on for 18,5 million euros, with further addons valued at another 5.5 millions. There are no solid reports on what wages will Gravenberch get, although some put the figure at around 170,000 euros per week.
"Bayern is a big club", the Ajax wonderkid told Bild. "I think you have to win big titles here. That is also what I expect for myself. I'm happy to be here in Munich now". Gravenberch, who managed 12 goals and 13 assists in 103 matches for Ajax, can play in the centre of midfield or as a defensive mid and is one of the most highly touted prospects in Europe.
