HUMBLING: Heung Min Son honored with national hero reception in South Korea
The South Korean was honoured on his arrival back to his country, following the obtention of the Golden Boot
Tottenham's Heung Min Son has just made history. The South Korean has undoubtedly been one of the best players in the English Premier League for the last couple of seasons.
Now, he has the trophy to prove it, as he's been awarded the EPL Golden Boot jointly with Liverpool's Mohammed Salah, as they both scored 23 goals in the past season, that saw Manchester City as champions whilst Liverpool was second, with Son's Tottenham finishing in 4th.
In doing so, he became the first ever an Asian to win the trophy, which earned Son a national hero's reception in his native South Korea. The Tottenham player was cheered on by a huge crowd at Incheon International Airport, while he posed with his new trophy.
It was undoubtedly an emotional moment for Heung Min Son, who arrived at Tottenham in 2015 from German side Bayer Leverkusen. With the Spurs, Son has scored 24 goals and given 10 assists in 45 games, making him one of Tottenham manager Antonio Conte's most trusted men.
