Future Unclear: Sterling to wait until June to decide his next move
Manchester City and England star Raheem Sterling is entering the final year of his deal, but will wait until after the Nations League to decide his next move. Arsenal and Tottenham allegedly interested in the player.
When a player enters the last year of his contract, rumours will start to fire up. Such is the case of English forward Raheem Sterling, who will enter the final 12 months of his deal this June and could be on the move from Manchester City.
However, as per David Ornstein from The Athletic, any talks regarding his future will have to wait until after the English international takes on the Nations League with his national team next month.
According to Ornstein, "[Sterling]'s commitment to City is known to be strong and this makes a fresh deal plausible, however that is unlikely if it looks as though he will continue to be given a limited role in the most vital matches."
With Arsenal and Tottenham among the potential suitors, it may be that Sterling is playing his final matches for the Manchester outfit. Sterling joined Manchester City as a 20 year old in 2015 for £44 million, and has played over 300 games for the Sky Blues, scoring 131 goals.
