Top Five release clauses in the world: NO Premier League, NO Messi
Mostly Spain players got in the top
Release clauses are an important thing in football: They protect a club from losing a player. But, nowadays, the stunning numbers of players' salaries are reflected in the clause, here are the top five:
5 - Vinicius Junior
The Brazil and Real Madrid star have a release clause of 585M euros, as los Blancos don't want any club to take his services. He is just 22 years old and already scored 41 goals and showed his magic with stunning skills and speed.
4- Federico Valverde and Brahim Díaz
Fede is absolutely one for the present and future. Ancelotti sees him as the future Modric, and The Uruguayan already demonstrated his talent by playing most matches as a starter. Brahim also equalizes the 641M clause Valverde has, but, after two good spent loans at Milán, he will probably join the Italian side permanently, but for much less.
3- Antoine Griezmann
Incredibly, the Frenchman occupies the third spot with a 683M clause, since he has a big contract with Barcelona, despite being on a two-season loan at Atlético. His low level at Barca makes his return to Madrid, and, after the 2022/2023 season, he will be permanently bought again by Los Colchoneros, but, same as Brahim with Milan, not for that amount.
2- David Alaba
The Real Madrid player has a 726M release clause. The Austrian seem to adapt in a good way to Spain and already won a Champions League. He is key for Ancelotti and considered the perfect replacement for Varane.
1- Pedri, Gavi, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araújo, and Karim Benzema
1 billion euros is their release clause. Four members of the Barcelona squad got the biggest release clause in football. Barca wants to reinvent themselves with the house youngsters and that is clear, no one will make them leave except if they pay that bid. Meanwhile, Karim is considered by many the best striker in the world, and the 327 goals scored at Real are proof of why people love him.
