He DESTROYED Vinicius: "He was a real Blaugrana"
The Brazilian is one of Real Madrid's best, but this former scout claims he actually loved Barcelona
Vinicius Junior is one of the best footballers in the world. The Brazilian was among the top 10 for the Ballon d'Or and is one of the most attractive stars that Real Madrid has today. However, before he wore the white shirt he could have been a Blaugrana. André Cury, a former Barcelona scout in Brazil, destroyed the former Flamengo player revealing that he is actually a Barcelona fan: "Vinicius was a culé, he was a fan of FC Barcelona. He cried with Barça's 6-1 win against PSG, he was a real Blaugrana".
In dialogue with Spanish radio Cadena SER, Cury revealed that Vinicius loved FC Barcelona: "Vinicius was signed by Barça. The player's two agents were very close friends of mine. It was already done, but, at the last second, my friends betrayed me and the club. We haven't spoken to each other since 2017. Madrid signed Vinicius without seeing a single game of his. But since he knew that Barça wanted him, Florentino went for him to avoid what happened with Neymar".
Cory also compared Vinicius's attitude to that of Neymar, who could also have gone to Real Madrid: "[Neymar] signed for love of the club. It cost a lot to bring him. Under normal conditions he would not have come. Real Madrid offered him 100 million euros more".
Vinicius' level is currently so high that he finished eighth in the Ballon d'Or and many complained that he should be better positioned. Ancelotti also referred to that: "I think it's fair, this allows him to try to improve what he has done last year. Last year it was all new and for him it gives him the opportunity to be more motivated to do better".
With Ancelotti he finished the 2021-22 season as the third footballer with most minutes (4,274, only behind Militao and Courtois) of the squad, being the second top scorer (22 goals) and the best assister (20, counting provoked penalties). As if that were not enough, he also scored the Champions League winning goal in Paris against Liverpool.
